Hot Potato Comedy Club - April 2018

Leading MC Danny Mcloughlin heads up hosting duties for this April’s foolery and is in very good company alongside Jeff Innocent, Gareth Richards and Daniel Sofoluke.

Danny Mcloughlin’s innate comic timing and confident stage presence combined with a finely tuned ability to react and think his feet make for a winning comic recipe. This combination means Danny is widely regarded as one of the best MCs on the circuit and a regular compere for the coveted Edinburgh Comedy Award Galas.

He’s been hand-picked by comedy heavyweights Sean Lock, Micky Flanagan & Sarah Millican, to name a few, as support for their touring shows. You might have also spotted him on Dave’s One Night Stand or BBC2’s Premier League Show.

There are numerous ways to describe actor, stand-up, writer and Best Club Comedian of the Year 2016 Jeff innocent. These include ‘philosophical geezer’, ‘cockney philosopher’, ‘body of a nightclub bouncer and the brains of a university boffin’ – you get the picture, right? Jeff has to be seen (and heard) to be believed. At first glance, you might think he’s a character plucked straight out of a Guy Ritchie film – but his stand-up and cultural comment delve much deeper than his hard-man, cockney exterior.

‘He commands the room, hits strong gags with confidence and style and has the audience bending to his every whim’ – Chortle

Gareth Richards has appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News, Live at the Electric and has performed live on Radio 1 on two occasions. He also co-hosted Frank Skinner’s Sony award-winning Absolute Radio show for two years and supported Frank on his 2014 tour.

As harmonious as he is hilarious, you can expect a musical number or two. Gareth often serenades his audiences with a trusty ‘weird electronic instrument from the early noughties’ aka his QChord.

‘An effortlessly assured act… exceptionally inspired and truly memorable’ – Chortle

BBC New Comedy finalist Daniel Sofoluke focuses on the imaginative with a relaxed, wry sense of humour built around his everyday experiences.

Line-ups subject to change. Not for the easily offended.
