Hot Potato Comedy Club May

A mix of familiar telly faces and the best comics up and down the land. Chuck in pretty much one of the coolest retro bars we’ve seen in ages and, quite frankly, one of the best audiences you’ll find anywhere – it all adds up to a fantastic Saturday night.

And we have a proper Saturday night sensation here, with special guest MC Debra Jane Appleby hosting a typically ace line-up of Alex Boardman, Tez Illyas & Will Naameh – there's more links to telly and radio than you can shake a stick at here.

Debra Jane Appleby’s no-nonsense take on the world is currently going down a storm on the London comedy circuit and beyond.

She’s also a sparky contributor to Sarah Millican’s Standard Issue online magazine, and a regular guest on 5Live and Radio 4’s Women’s Hour.

“Has that magical spontaneous quality to her comedy.” Channel 4.

“Her strength is in performance, confident & punchy.” Chortle.

Alex Boardman is quite simply one of the most in-demand headliners up and down the land. Razor sharp and loved by comics and audiences alike, a string of writing credits include Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

He’s also recently spent five nights as main support for “An Evening with Eric Cantona,” playing to almost 10,000 people at sold-out gigs at Salford’s Lowry Theatre and the London Palladium – and he’s set to return to The Lowry and the Palladium later this year alongside boxer Anthony Joshua.

“A rare mix of wit & charm.” The Guardian.

“A great comic and a skilled writer.” Sarah Millican.

“You are very funny my friend.” Eric Cantona.

Co-headliner Tez Illyas was quickly snapped up for his own BBC Radio 4 series after a storming Edinburgh Festival.

“Sharp, timely satire, delivered with a cheekily winning smile.” The Independent.

***** The Mirror.

***** The Daily Record.

Top support comes from improv ace Will Naameh – the 2016 Edinburgh Revue Stand-Up Champion, and the 2017 UK Improv Smackdown Champion.

Let’s face it, that very likely makes him the world’s leading freestyle rapper to ever emerge from the ghetto of middle-class white West London. And that’s probably saying something!

Best get cracking with your tickets for this one.

Line-ups occasionally subject to change. Not for the easily offended.
