About

Located on the Green at Seaton Carew, Altonlea Lodge is a family run business, which prides itself on the standard of accommodation and care provided. The property is a listed building and many rooms have sea views. Others are located in the newly built annexe overlooking the garden.

All of Altonlea Lodge's bedrooms boast large, airy rooms, which are decorated to a high standard. All rooms feature televisions and tea/coffee making facilities. The Hotel also offers a number of ground floor bedrooms which have wider doors to allow easy access for wheelchairs. During the summer months, guests like nothing more than to side in the peaceful, west facing loggia (an open fronted glass corridor connecting Altonlea Lodge to the Annexe building), watching the sun set with the sound of the ponds water fall in the background.

The hotel is well positioned in Seaton Carew being only a moments walk from Hartlepool's finest golden beach and very handy for Seaton Carew railway platform. Its long golden sands dominate Seaton Carew and its busy sea front is home to traditional arcades, pubs and gift shops. To the south of the town you will find the Seaton Carew golf course - this links course was one of the first 50 gold courses in the world to open when it was established in 1874.

A short drive, or pleasant walk, to the north of the town brings you to the impressive Hartlepool Marina development which as well as the 500 berth marina you will find Hartlepool's Maritime Experience, which encompasses award winning attractions in the shape of Hartlepool Historic Quay, HMS Trincomalee and the museum of Hartlepool. Close by you will find a worldwide mix of restaurants, multi screen cinema and great shopping facilities including a 24hr supermarket.
