Six luxurious sea-view boutique cottages, that nestle quietly away from the everyday "hustle & bustle", yet are only a 5 minute drive from the beautiful bays along the north-east coastline. A place of luxury is one where every single detail is taken care of and here, Abbey Hill Cottages certainly lives up to its deluxe reputation. All six of our cottages are finished to the highest standard, to help you feel at home.
This fabulous location also hosts a new coarse fishing lake, 2800m2 in size and been planted with a full variety of aquatic plants to enhance nature with both the angler and the environment in mind. Varieties which include, White Lilly, Plantain, Dock, Bur Reed, Sedge, Glyceria, Yellow Flag Iris, Aquatic Mint, Crack Willow, White Willow, Sallow, Ossier and Alder. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish which include Carp, Bream, Tench, Chub, Roach, Rudd, perch and Gudgeon. (Carp in double figures). This coarse fishing lake was extensively stocked and planted in spring 2011.
The surrounding area provides a host of activities to keep you entertained during your stay. Elwick - 2.5 miles away from the Abbey Hill Cottages where there are two village pubs serving a variety of food in a friendly atmosphere. Hartlepool Marina - 3 miles from Dalton Piercy Hartlepool marina is one of the most modern marina facilities in Europe. It boasts award winning attractions, such as the Historic Quay (a reproduction of an 18th century sea port), HMS Trincomalee and the museum of Hartlepool. Fast track sailing courses are available. Waterside restaurants offering a wide variety of local and foreign cuisine, including Mediterranean, North African, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Thai, along with bistros and coffee shops.
