Shine On- The UK's #1 Pink Floyd Tribute Show - CANCELLED
Due to unforeseen circumstances we are afraid that Shine On are no longer able to perform at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre this May. We hope that we will be able to schedule a new date with them in the near future.
SHINE ON was formed by lifelong friends Ted & Fletcher at the end of 2003. The idea came from seeing a Pink Floyd tribute at Newcastle City Hall who were, to say the least – not very good. They felt it could be done a lot better and set out to prove it.
Rehearsals showed great promise and for the next 3 years this would hold them in good stead for the gigs that came their way, including a now legendary performance at the same Venue where they had gained the inspiration to form SHINE ON. Armed with a 36’ inflatable pig loaned to the band by none other than Pink Floyd frontman David Gilmour – SHINE ON put in the performance of their life which included an appearance on BBC Look North.
Many gigs and festivals followed, including 2 headline appearances at the MAG motor cycle festival in 2004 and 2006. SHINE ON were on the way to achieving far more than their initial expectations.
Awarded the title “UK’S #1 PINK FLOYD TRIBUTE” in 2006 after winning the title 3 years in succession was a great highlight as the award came from the EMI record company website which had polled its visitors for over 3 years.
The typical SHINE ON show can grace any stage but is most at home on the Theatre and Festival circuits. Attention to detail is the key and concert goers can expect to hear a selection of classic PF songs covering their entire career. As a 9 piece fully self-contained act, they excel in the live performance arena. Many of the visitor comments on their Facebook page attest to this. On a constant mission to expand the show, SHINE ON show no signs of slowing down as they enter their 15th year.
Featuring songs from the following albums:
Dark Side of the Moon – Wish You Were Here – Division Bell – Meddle – Animals – The Wall
“the closest thing there is to the sound of Pink Floyd” The Crack
“a must for any Pink Floyd fan – a band for the area to be proud of” Alan Robson Metro Radio
